<li><strong>You can be self employed:</strong> This is a  prospect that is increasingly being denied to other health care providers such as optometrists and even  GPs . Big Business controls a lot of health practices. Consider how often you see an independent optometrist these days – can they compete on price with the multinational chains?</li>
<li><strong>Legal Issues:</strong> In Australia (unlike the USA where things are very different), podiatrists very, very rarely  face malpractice suits. The nature of podiatry practice does not lend itself to accidentally harming one’s patients. Also, you never have to give your  customers the bad news that their condition will be terminal.</li>
<li><strong>Working Hours:</strong> Emergency call outs are very unlikely. This is  great news  for those among us who like their sleep uninterrupted.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The typical question customers ask when looking for a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: should I get an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, standing for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, an acronym for ‘digital light processing’ are the two most common projector imaging technologies. With so many company brands and different types available, it can be overwhelming for customers to decide between those technologies. The fact is that LCD projectors offer far superior image quality and colour accuracy. The next part of this article explains why DLP projectors struggle with bringing up a comparable rate of image quality.</p>
<p>Imagine a set of blinds in your home over your bedroom window. By pulling a rod you can make the shutters open or closed, depending on whether you want to let light in or not. That is exactly how an LCD projector functions. Each pixel operates like a unique shutter on a set of blinds to either allow light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is made up of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as the pros like to call them. Each pixel element operates to either reflect light or block it.</p>
<p>How the light source is processed from the point at which the projector switches on to when the image reaches your screen is absolutely significant in regard to image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors direct white light from the lamp by splitting it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which transfer the coloured light to 3 different LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels make the elements of the image by switching each pixel on and off. The pixels are then meshed in a glass prism to create the projector image. A point to know about LCD projectors is that all three colours are projected onto your wall simultaneously. The way a DLP projector works is widely different and even the way an image looks is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is directed through a rotating colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This method of creating an image casts a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors as mentioned above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to construct the image elements. The elements of the image are projected in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer&#8217;s eye will then combine each coloured element of the image into the single full image. In LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to form the top level of brightness and fantastic colour accuracy. In DLP, just one colour is available at once, causing lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some DLP manufacturers have put a white segment for the colour wheel to improve all over brightness, but this goes and detracts from colour accuracy.</p>
<p>I see in forums all the time that DLP gives a higher contrast ratio and ergo must be better quality. For those who do not know, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the projector is capable of producing. DLP projectors do possess high contrast specifications when compared to the majority of LCD projectors. At one glance, this can seem to be a benefit, however, in reality, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room in which the projector is being utilised. Do not be hoodwinked by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.</p>
<p>When the content you plan to bring to life has moving images, DLP projection technology can also create image errors, or ‘artifacts’. The most common artifact that a DLP projector forms with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is to be expected in DLP systems because moving images keep changing between the time red, blue and green colours are shone. LCD projectors do not have this problem because the colours are sent with the others. DLP builders have come up with 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to answer the colour break up artifacts, but the price of these projectors make them not practical for most businesses and consumers.</p>
<p>Another difference between LCD and DLP is how they balance for the refractive qualities of light. Jump back to high school science, and remember when they taught you how the various colours of light refract varied amounts when projected through the same lens. The disadvantage with DLP projectors is that they use the one same panel with the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are obviously not the same and refract light in a different way. Generally with a DLP projector, a spill of yellow colour will come up above and some blue will appear below an image containing something as simple as a single black line. In manufacturing LCD projectors can be adapted to take away these effects on the projected image, as each colour is directed on a separate LCD panels.</p>
<p>The only true plus (excluding price) with choosing a DLP projector is its smaller size and weight. However, this is only relevant for portability and has to be traded off against the image benefits of LCD projectors. If resulting picture quality is vital to you, then the decision is simple. Take an LCD projector! LCD projectors will always create bright, colourful images with fewer image errors. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the Dutch found preeminence in sea power during the 17th century, the early yacht was a pleasure craft used mostly by royalty and later by the burghers in the canals and then in the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Racing was incidental, arising as private matches. English yachting started with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his restoration to the English monarchy in 1660, the city of Amsterdam sent him a 20-metre (66-foot) pleasure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he then named Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, ruled 1685–88), ordered for additional yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and back, on a Â£100 wager. Yachting became fashionable among the rich and aristocracy, but after that period the trend did not last.</p>
<p>The first yacht association in the British Isles, the Water Club, was started at about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard association, and held large naval panoply and rigour. The closest thing to racing was the “chase,” in which the “fleet” pursued an imagined enemy. The club persisted, largely as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, by conglomerating with other organisations, it became known as the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).</p>
<p>Yacht racing began in some organized method on the Thames around the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland founded the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV ascended to the throne in 1820, it was called the Fleet to His Majesty&#8217;s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded with a racing argument, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht group had been initiated at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal patronage made the Solent - the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight - the perpetual site of British yacht racing. The association at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, again at the accession of George IV. Each member was required to own boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing tests for large bids were held, and the society life was wonderful. Eventually Royal Yachting Club boats grew in size to bigger than 350 tons.</p>
<p>In North America, yachting was first accomplished with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and went on when the English held control. Sailing was mostly for fun and found its epitome in George Crowinshield&#8217;s Cleopatra&#8217;s Barge (1815), which traveled on the Mediterranean Sea and established a minimum of luxury and elegance for the later yachts in those waters from the late 19th century. The first persisting American yacht society, the Detroit Boat Club, was started in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens began the New York Yacht Club aboard his schooner Gimcrack.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of sailboats<br /></strong>The Early sailing yachts were within the design of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century until the latter half of the 19th century. The style of large yachts was originally heavily impacted by the victory of America, which was drawn by George Steers for a syndicate headed by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America&#8217;s Cup (q.v.) had its namesake after its success at Cowes in 1851. The first yachts were not designed and built in the modern sense, with merely a model being used. Not until the second half of the 19th century did what was labeled naval architecture come into being. Not until the 1920s did the employment of the research of aerodynamics do for the craft of sails and rigging what it had done earlier for hulls.</p>
<p>Because almost all sailboats had been individually custom-built, there arose a desire for handicapping boats before the one-design class boats were made. Therefore, a rating rule came into being, which ended up in the International Rule, accepted in 1906 and revised in 1919. In the present day, one of the most rapidly blossoming areas in the sailing industry is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are built to single requirements in length, beam, sail area, and other aspects (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing for these boats can be had on an even par with no handicapping necessary. A great example is the uniform International America&#8217;s Cup Class taken on for racers in the 1992 America&#8217;s Cup race.</p>
<p>For the time that yachting was done primarily for the royal and the rich, expense was no object, and the size of boats increased, in both length and weight. The promotion and desire of smaller craft occurred in the later half of the 19th century from the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A trip around the world (1895–98) captained single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray made plain the value of less sizeable yachts. Later in the 20th century, for the larger part after World War II, smaller racing and recreational craft became commonplace, down to the dinghy, a favourite training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, boats of less than 3 m were setting sail single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of power yachts<br /></strong>After the decade 1840–50, during which steam began to emulate sail power in commercial craft, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were employed increasingly in personal yachts. Large power yachts were progressed to a high degree, and long-distance cruising was a favourite activity of the affluent. The earliest power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; these then made way to boats powered by the wholly submerged screw or propeller type of propulsion. As in the case of naval and merchant vessels, auxiliaries possessing both sail and power were the yacht standard for several years. By the second half of the 20th century, many yachts were still auxiliaries, but the majority were exclusively power yachts containing gasoline or diesel engines.</p>
<p>From the last decade of the 19th century there was a rise in the manufacture of bigger steam yachts. Conspicuous within these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, with triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was sailed by a crew of more than 150. The Mayflower, commissioned by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and gave active service in World War II.</p>
<p>As bigger and more dependable internal-combustion engines were created, many bigger yachts were using them for power. The creation of the diesel engine, with heavy oil for fuel, progressed in World War I. During the decade that followed, bigger power-yacht creation blossomed, reaching a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. From that period the best auxiliary yacht constructed was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.</p>
<p>The building of larger power boats declined in 1932, and the fashion thereafter was in preference of smaller, less expensive boats. From World War II, lots of small naval boats were bought by private owners for conversion to yachts. By the late 20th century, yachting had become a globally beloved sport enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen who are actually manning and maintaining their own small recreational yachts. The amount of yachts and owners has increased steadily, not only in the traditional locations on the seacoasts but also on inland waterways and lakes.</p>

Income taxes that are nominally progressive, however, may become less so within the upper-income group—particularly if a taxpayer is permitted to lessen his tax base by nominating deductions or by removing some income aspects from his taxable income. Proportional tax rates when applied to lower-income categories can also be more progressive if such exemptions of a personal nature are claimed.</p>
<p>Income measured over the course of a given period might not absolutely offer the most accurate measure of taxpaying ability. For example, transitory rises in income may be saved, and during temporary declines in income a taxpayer might elect to pay for consumption by taking from savings. Therefore, if taxation is made comparable with “permanent income,” it should be less regressive (or more progressive) than if held in comparison with annual income.</p>
<p>Sales taxes and excises (except luxuries) are usually regressive, because the dissemination of individual income consumed or spent on a specific good lowers as the amount of personal income increases. Poll taxes (also called head taxes), nominated as a fixed amount per capita, patently are regressive.</p>
<p>It is difficult to dictate corporate income taxes and taxes on business as progressive, regressive, or proportionate, principally because of the uncertainty about the ability of businesses to shift their tax expenses (see below Shifting and incidence). This difficulty of dictating who bears the tax burden depends essentially on whether a national or a subnational (that is, provincial or state) tax is being debated.</p>
<p>In considering the economic purpose of taxation, it is essential to distinguish between several ideas of tax rates. The statutory rates will be specified in law; generally these are marginal rates, but occasionally they are median rates. Marginal income tax rates note the fraction of incremental income that is taken by taxation when income increases by one dollar. Thus, if tax onus increases by 45 cents when income grows by one dollar, the marginal tax rate is 45 percent. Income tax statutes often contain graduated marginal rates—i.e., rates that grow as income rises. Structured analysis of marginal tax rates need to regard provisions other than the formal statutory rate structure. If, for example, a particular tax credit (reduction in tax) lowers by 20 cents for each one-dollar rise in income, the marginal rate is 20 percentage points greater than specified in the statutory rates. Since marginal rates display how after-tax income changes in response to changes in before-tax income, they are the important ones for appraising incentive effects of taxation. It is even more difficult to nominate the marginal effective tax rate applicable to income from business and capital, since it may depend on considerations including the structure of depreciation allowances, the deductibility of interest, and the provisions for inflation adjustment. A basic economic theorem shows that the marginal effective tax rate in income from capital is nil under a consumption-based tax.</p>
<p>Average income tax rates display the part of total income that is demanded in taxation. The pattern of average rates is the one that is necessary for assessing the distributional equity of taxation. Under a progressive income tax the average income tax rate increases with income. Average income tax rates generally grow with income, both because personal allowances are provided for the taxpayer and dependents and also due to that marginal tax rates are graduated; conversely, preferential treatment of income received predominantly by high-income households might swamp these effects, producing regressivity, as shown by average tax rates that lower as income rises.</p>
